The Director of Sales is a pivotal role responsible for the revenue generation teams, including Business Development and Customer Experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and building a team, achieving revenue and sales targets, and developing growth strategies, especially within MSP companies.
The mission of the Director of Sales is to develop a world-class revenue generation team that aligns with marketing and delivery teams, optimizing sales and customer success functions to drive revenue and growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop growth strategies with the executive team.
- Oversee all revenue-generating activities – direct sales, partner sales, performance marketing, and customer success.
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure demand generation activities deliver quality leads.
- Establish short-term results and long-term strategies, including revenue forecasting.
- Prospect and close relationships with key target clients.
- Drive operational excellence at every stage of the sales funnel.
- Be accountable for results, forecast accuracy, and meeting/exceeding sales targets.
- Monitor revenue pipeline and leads, adjusting strategies for sustainable growth.
- Develop and implement revenue-driving strategies to create long-term value.
- Monitor strategies across the revenue cycle from customer acquisition to engagement and success.
- Develop and implement sales management processes – pipeline, account planning, proposals.
- Oversee all channel and partner development.
- Collaborate with delivery and support teams to ensure overall business success.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
- Experience in the IT MSP industry.
- 10+ years of successful sales leadership, managing teams and achieving revenue targets.
- Experience in developing growth strategies with executive teams and stakeholders.
- Expertise in sales funnel management, forecasting, and closing sales.
- Experience managing direct sales, partner sales, and marketing efforts.
- Strong negotiation skills and contractual understanding.
- Experience with sales and marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot).
- Experience in global market expansion and entering new regions.
- Strong collaboration skills across teams to align sales with business objectives.
- Experience with strategic revenue forecasting and planning.
