Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at our UL certified panel shop and Instrumentation and Electrical Construction company. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and commissioning electrical control panels for a variety of industries. You will work closely with the design team, fabricators, and clients to ensure the successful completion of electrical projects, maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Specification : Design electrical control panels, wiring diagrams, and schematics for industrial systems and automation applications. Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and specifications (e.g., UL, IEC, NEC).
  • Panel Layout & Configuration : Work on detailed layouts and configurations for the installation of electrical panels, ensuring proper placement of components for functionality and safety.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting : Oversee and participate in the testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical panels. Troubleshoot electrical issues during the build process and after installation.
  • Coordination & Communication : Collaborate with the panel shop production team to ensure the designs are implemented accurately. Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams during the build process.
  • Compliance & Quality Control : Ensure that all electrical panels are built and tested according to industry regulations and quality standards, including verifying components and ensuring proper certifications.
  • Documentation : Prepare and review detailed electrical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, bill of materials (BOM), and user manuals. Maintain accurate records for compliance and future reference.
  • Customization & Innovation : Work with customers to customize panels according to their specific requirements and suggest innovative solutions for system improvements.
  • Troubleshooting & Support : Provide ongoing technical support for customers post-installation. Address and resolve any electrical issues or malfunctions in existing systems.
  • System Integration : Integrate electrical panels with other systems such as PLCs, HMIs, and motor control centers, ensuring seamless operation.

Qualifications:

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience :
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on designing and building control panels for industrial applications.
  • Experience with control systems, motor control centers (MCCs), and PLCs.
  • Skills :
  • Proficient in using electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of control panel design, electrical schematics, wiring, and component selection.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL508A, UL 891, IEC 61439, NEC).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for coordinating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
  • Certifications :
  • Certified Engineering Technician (CET) or Professional Engineer (PE) status is a plus.
  • Experience with UL panel shop certifications is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industrial automation, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical power distribution systems, transformers, and circuit protection.
  • Understanding of energy-efficient solutions and green technology in panel design.
  • Knowledge of advanced control systems (e.g., VFDs, drives, sensors).
