AtriCure, Inc. is a medical device company and a leader in developing, manufacturing, and selling innovative cardiac surgical ablation systems designed to create precise lesions in cardiac tissue for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF) and systems for the exclusion of the left atrial appendage. Cardiothoracic surgeons are adopting AtriCure's ablation products for AF treatment during open-heart surgical procedures and minimally invasive procedures. AF affects over 33 million people worldwide and increases stroke risk fivefold. The FDA has not cleared or approved certain AtriCure products for AF treatment or stroke risk reduction.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Equipment Specialist is a technical role requiring advanced skills and hands-on experience in machining, turning, grinding, and other metalworking fabrication methods. The role involves reading and interpreting engineering drawings, understanding geometric tolerancing, and conversational programming on knee mills and lathes.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work on complete projects or parts of projects under supervision of a Senior Equipment Specialist or Management.
  • Fabricate parts of moderate to significant complexity with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Resolve problems of considerable scope and complexity.
  • Operate under general supervision.
  • Specify materials for fixtures and tools.
  • Train Technicians and Associates on fixtures and equipment use.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and debug fixtures, gauges, and tooling for efficient product assembly.
  • Verify work accuracy using various measurement techniques.
  • Collaborate with Tooling Engineers to specify materials.
  • Demonstrate exceptional mechanical aptitude.
  • Work to tight tolerances (+/- .0005”).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Undergraduate degree, vocational training, or related experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Machining experience.
  • Computer and data entry skills.
  • Verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Assembly experience.
  • Basic CAD skills.
  • Engineering or design background.
  • Basic MasterCam knowledge.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Regularly walk, sit, stand, bend, and push/pull.
  • Regularly lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift over 25 pounds.
  • No travel required.
  • Position contingent upon passing pre-employment physical and drug screening.
