Job Description

This role offers an annual salary ranging from $110,000 to $127,000. Actual compensation will depend on experience, education, certifications, skills, and location.

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. This position manages facility and manufacturing improvement projects, develops plans, and prepares project budgets including ROI calculations. The role supports maintenance in troubleshooting building and equipment repairs, conducts testing of new equipment, and modifies existing processes and equipment. Collaboration with operations management is essential for process and equipment modifications, work instructions, and employee training.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Testing and developing new equipment
  • Refining existing equipment
  • Managing projects with design and budget considerations
  • Supporting maintenance and manufacturing teams
  • Assisting with troubleshooting and process improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with codes
  • Reporting activities regularly and updating relevant staff
  • Documenting capital projects using TPM tools and management methodologies
  • Providing training on new equipment and processes
Qualifications

To perform effectively, you should:

  • Hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Have at least 10 years of industry experience in chemical or process manufacturing
  • Be proficient in reading and creating electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings using AutoCAD
  • Possess advanced troubleshooting skills in mechanical, motion, and hydraulic systems, with basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge
  • Understand instrumentation, programmable controllers, and system operation
  • Be able to troubleshoot instrumentation devices and PLCs
  • Be willing to travel up to 25% as needed

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Navisworks
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Background in chemical manufacturing
