Testing Required:
  • Hybrid Role: Must be able to come on-site periodically and reside a commutable distance from the work location.
  • Emergency Response: Must be available to support DTE's emergency response during storms or other events impacting service.
Engineer (Associate, Staff, Senior, & Principal):Job Summary

Performs engineering tasks following established processes, proposing solutions to engineering problems. Collaborates with experienced engineers on routine design, operation, maintenance, and market optimization of company assets. Develops models, analyzes data, and presents findings to management and external parties. May provide technical support and field engineering assistance, staying current with technological trends. Ensures compliance with nuclear quality assurance, security safeguards, NERC-CIP, and NRC requirements.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics, with relevant experience:

  • Associate level: Internship experience preferred
  • Staff level: 2 years
  • Senior level: 4 years
  • Principal level: 6 years
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with BWR reactor core design and GNF Core Design Software
  • Technical evaluation skills in nuclear fuel and core design, reload licensing, and core monitoring
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of nuclear reactor licensing, safety margins, and federal regulations
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to support Fermi Emergency Response Organization
  • Pass all screening phases, including background, psychological, radiation, and drug tests
  • Physical ability to work in plant environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
