Position SummaryThe Automotive Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing tires and automotive services while providing excellent customer service. They must explain technical diagnoses and repairs to co-workers and customers. The Mechanic should continuously update their technical knowledge and skills to keep pace with rapidly evolving automotive technology. Additionally, they will train and mentor colleagues and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair to specifications, including brake and hydraulic systems, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension, and perform maintenance services.
- Perform duties of all lower-level roles such as General Service Technician.
- Explain technical diagnoses and repairs clearly to non-mechanical personnel, including customers and staff.
- Engage in ongoing training to stay current with automotive technological advances.
- Assist fellow technicians with technical tasks.
- Report mechanical issues to management promptly.
- Maintain an organized and clean workshop environment.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of experience in automotive troubleshooting and repairs.
- Section 609 Certification (preferred).
- State Inspection license (if applicable).
- High motivation, energy, and customer-oriented attitude.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successful pre-employment background check.
- Availability to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Visual verification of information, often in small print.
- Safe operation of motor vehicles.
The pay range is $24.00 to $29.00 per hour on a flat rate basis, with a guaranteed minimum of $20.00 per hour.
