Overview

In this position, you will provide business development for MicroTech with a focus on MicroTech branded solutions (hybrid on-prem cloud solution), digital network modernization activities, IT network and technical services, software solution implementations, cybersecurity, program management, and managed services for the Federal Government (e.g., civilian agencies including DHS, SSA, Department of Treasury, FEMA, USPS, IRS, DOI). You should be adept at leading cross-functional teams, developing capture strategies, and delivering innovative IT solutions to federal agencies.

You should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, familiar with Federal Government agencies, and possess a solid technology background to identify and qualify business opportunities throughout all stages of the business cycle. You must develop strategies, plans, and actions to successfully pursue qualified opportunities, including conducting research and documenting efforts, and discussing pursuits at all organizational levels.

You will develop, draft, and execute capture plans, win themes, storyboards, decision briefs, business strategies, weekly reports, and lead proposal activities. Building and nurturing strategic alliances with government clients to support business development strategies will be essential. You will also assist in integrating technical capabilities for emerging markets.

You should demonstrate knowledge of business development processes and MicroTech's services and products, providing qualified recommendations for expanding capabilities and entering new markets.

Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships with government clients to identify and cultivate opportunities early, before public release.
  • Create and maintain a realistic business development and account management plan in collaboration with executive management, ensuring a healthy pipeline.
  • Prepare and update account and opportunity development plans, securing necessary approvals.
  • Gather and document intelligence about customers, procurement, competition, and pricing.
  • Coordinate with capture and proposal teams, negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Present to corporate and executive review teams.
  • Develop and approve win themes and discriminators.
  • Brainstorm effective strategies and solutions across technical, operational, management, personnel, business, and pricing domains.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Determine resource needs for successful bid pursuits.
  • Respond to RFIs and Sources Sought notices, ensuring messaging aligns with MicroTech's win strategy.
  • Develop pre-RFP requirements.
Qualifications
  • Ability to conceptualize a vision for winning, develop and adjust BD plans accordingly, and oversee activities to achieve goals.
  • Technical ability to conceptualize and develop client-specific solutions.
  • Strong understanding of customer needs and objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external audiences.
  • People skills to facilitate progress, anticipate problems, and drive BD activities forward.
  • Exceptional time management skills.

Education/Other:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience in federal government contexts preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal procurement policies and practices, and techniques for marketing and developing business in the federal space.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are essential.
  • Must be based in the National Capital Region (NCR).
  • This is a remote position.
