For more information, visit vigor.net.PAY RANGE: $156,830 - 196,000POSITION SUMMARY:The Operations Director leads engineering, production, safety, and facilities organizations within VIGOR Works. This role ensures that product development meets cost, schedule, quality, safety, and performance requirements as defined by the Program Management Director and VIGOR company policies. While the Program Management Director oversees overall program performance, the Operations Director is responsible for engineering, production, safety, and facilities functions, working closely with various departments such as Program Management, Planning and Integration, Finance, Quality, Affordability, Logistics, Test, and Contracts.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:- Ensure the Chief Naval Architect function is adequately supported with budget, tools, training, and direction.- Provide the production function with necessary resources and guidance.- Support facilities, safety, and other functions with resources and oversight.- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, conducting regular assessments.- Seek improvements in operations through Lean/Six Sigma, Design to Cost, workforce efficiency, and performance measurement.- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain groups to implement performance-enhancing techniques and technologies.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:Manage 5-10 direct reports, including at least 2 Director Level 1 subordinates.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:- Experience with DoD 5000.1 and 5000.2.- Deep understanding of ABS Rules and Guides.- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles.- Experience leading maritime engineering and production organizations.- Familiarity with DTC, VECP, engineering drawing systems, project scheduling, work packages, BOM, ERP, and cost estimation.- Strong communication and organizational skills; proficiency with MS Office.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.- 15+ years in marine engineering, production, or program management.- Master's degree preferred.- Ability to obtain Secret Clearance preferred.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:- PE license, PMP, Six Sigma/LEAN certifications preferred.WORK ENVIRONMENT:- Onsite work required, with occasional travel up to 10% locally and 5% out of town.CITIZENSHIP:- US citizenship required due to government contract.Vigor is committed to diversity and equal employment opportunity, providing reasonable accommodations and complying with applicable laws.#J-18808-Ljbffr
