Qualifications

  • Understand principles, practices, codes, and standards of civil engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of the approval and permitting process for projects.
  • Effective communication, financial management, and leadership skills to manage multiple projects, clients, schedules and budgets.
  • Communicates in a timely and effective manner within the team and with clients, various agencies, and other disciplines and managers.
  • Serve as the main point of contact with the client; receives and conveys client goals and objectives to team members.

Your Day to Day:

  • Act in a lead position, providing technical direction over a group of civil designers and functioning as a technical specialist and consultant for our internal staff.
  • Lead new business development, promote repeat and referral business with existing clients, and participate in networking events and business development meetings.
  • Prepare and review project proposals, qualification statements, promotional materials, and professional services agreements; is responsible for the preparation, obtaining internal and external approvals, and managing final execution and subsequent amendments.
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate the team during the execution of projects.
  • Takes an active role in coaching, mentoring, and delegating responsibility to less-senior level staff; provides daily “on-the-job” training for team members.
  • Manage project budget; communicate budget allocation to staff for their respective assignments.

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering from a four-year, board-approved engineering curriculum.
  • Active PE required.

Experience

  • Typically, 15+ years of experience in Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills in mentoring, training, coaching, and developing.
