The position of Warehouse Associate is responsible for all aspects of the warehouse function including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing product for delivery to a customer while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion. A Warehouse Associate may be assigned to work in any region of the warehouse; the ambient region, refrigerated region or freezer region. The Warehouse Associate position must:
- Receive products coming into the building accurately and promptly.
- Verify the quantity and description of materials received.
- Examine incoming products for temperature, damage, etc.
- Accurately store materials in the appropriate places as per the standard operating procedure.
- Pick, assemble and fill orders to be shipped to customers.
- Load orders onto the appropriate vehicles.
- Accurately identify and count products as listed on the cycle count list.
- Perform freight handling activities using powered industrial truck equipment (certification will be provided)
- Use scan gun/finger scanner device for picking/receiving
- Make adjustments for product shortages on paperwork or using the scan gun/finger scanner picking device.
- Ensure proper code date rotation. (First Expiration/First Out)
- Report any product/packaging issues.
- Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency or accuracy of the operation.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Follow Good Warehousing Practices.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas.
- Responsible for food safety and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
- Must be able to able to stand, walk, push or pull a majority of the day. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and manually stack and move cases up to 6-7 cases high.
- Must be able to work in an environment where temperature is maintained at 34-40 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be required to work in an environment where temperature is maintained at 0-10 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
- Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, and background checks)
