Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures and equipment. Installs/maintains/repairs pipes, valves, faucets, irrigation systems, water heaters, backflow prevention devices, lavatories, commodes, urinals, traps, sewer vents, grease traps and other sanitary fixtures. Inspects all safety devices and controls; works from general instructions, building specifications, blueprints and sketches; completes time and materials estimates.QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three and a half (3½) years of plumbing experience.Necessary Special Requirement: Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Palm Beach County (PBC) or Florida Plumbing License within 11 months of appointment.PREFERENCE FOR: Experience maintaining and servicing commercial plumbing systems (must specify on application); FL Backflow Prevention Certification; PBC/FL Plumbing License.Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Respiratory screen/chest x-ray and Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.Will be required to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check in addition to Palm Beach County Sheriff Office background check prior to appointment.
