Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland's System of Care is seeking empathic, compassionate, and mission-driven candidates to join our team as a Visitation Specialist. In this role you will provide close supervision of families who's children are in Department of Children and Family Services custody, guiding them to meet their children's needs consistently. The Specialist will provide documentation to the Worker On Record at Department of Children and Family Services weekly, as well as complete goals for each family. Once the family has completed the program, the Specialist will be responsible for creating a discharge summary.Program Statement:Provide supported visitation and family focused support to families working to get their children back or have recently returned home. The goal is to improve parents ability to meet their children's developmental needs and help them adjust to the change brought about by transitioning back home, to their parent's care. Responsibilities :
  • Support visits for a two hour slot at the parent's home or in the community
  • Provide detailed documentation of your observations during the visits.
  • Provide parent(s) with feedback to help them see how they may want to respond differently to improve outcomes of their child's behavior.
  • You may need to attend SAR's and court hearings.
  • The workload will fluctuate depending on referrals and there could be time where you do not have an assigned case.
Requirements:
  • Combination of experience and education normally represented by a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field and from one to two years of related professional experience.
  • Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships.
  • Must have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with diverse client population and community organizations as well as staff at all levels.
  • Must have valid Ohio Driver's License with reliable means of transportation for local travel.
  • Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
  • Applicants of Catholic Charities must provide three references; two professional (one must be a previous supervisor) and the third one can be personal.
