Job Overview

KPMG is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This hybrid work role involves designing, implementing, and supporting VDI solutions across multiple locations.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with virtualization operations and engineering teams to gather requirements, build, deploy, and provide technical leadership for VDI environments.
  • Contribute to the organization's technology planning, ensuring effective integration of VDI with network security infrastructure; work with various technology teams and vendors.
  • Design, upgrade, test, and modify VDI environments based on capacity needs; troubleshoot system and network issues; stay updated on industry trends; deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.
  • Provide expert guidance, ensure adherence to development processes, meet performance and budget targets, and support operations with root cause and preventative analysis.
  • Develop configuration management, automation, inventory, and self-service tools; train team members.
    • Qualifications
  • At least seven years of recent experience in virtualization design and engineering, managing large-scale projects, with cloud-hosted VDI experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Skills in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, Citrix NetScaler/ADC/VPX, Citrix Gateway, Citrix App Layering, Citrix XenServer, VMWare ESXi.
  • Strong understanding of multi-site VDI environments, networking equipment (switches, firewalls, proxies).
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting; ability to create technical documentation; capable of designing new VDI environments.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
