HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Albany, New York.

Advanced skills needed: Critical thinking, problem solving, effective communication with all members of the health care team, titrating of medications for sedation and blood pressure support, monitoring respiratory status, competent with caring for patients receiving mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation, chest tube maintenance. Experience with arterial lines, central lines, bedside procedures (see below). Some examples of frequently used IV medications are Levophed, Vasopressin, Neosynephrine, Epinephrine, Precedex, Fentanyl, Propofol, Versed, Heparin, and Insulin. CRRT experience welcome, not required.

Procedures performed on unit: Central line placement, intubation, arterial line placement, bedside tracheostomy, bronchoscopy, upper and lower endoscopy, chest tube placement, PEG placement, paracentesis, thoracentesis, massive blood product transfusion, Blakemore placement, occasional bedside surgery, therapeutic hypothermia and normothermia, organ donation, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and many other procedures.

Certifications Required: Current active license for position, ACLS, BLS. CRRT experience welcome.
