In order to be considered for this position, candidates must be serving permanently in the title of Certified IT Developer (Applications), or must have taken, passed, and be reachable on the Open Competitive Certified IT Developer (Applications) Exam # 1149, or be eligible under the 55a program.

Position Overview

Traffic Operations' Electrical Operations Unit seeks to hire a Certified IT Developer (Applications). Under general supervision, with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the successful candidate will supervise a unit engaged in planning, designing, configuring, installing, testing, troubleshooting, integrating, performance monitoring, maintaining, enhancing, security management, and support of computer applications programs. The role includes serving as a project leader for complex projects involving computer application programs.

The candidate will develop an application to coordinate between the OTI Poletop reservation system and the DOT system, involved in mapping for inspection planning, tracking, and construction inspections related to third-party attachments on DOT streetlight poles. The role also involves work on the TERMS Replacement project (the new Signal and Streetlighting Contract Management System) and requires experience with ArcGIS and mapping software. In the absence of the supervisor, the candidate may perform supervisory duties.
