Job Description :

Due to continued growth, Sargent & Lundy's Grid Group currently has an opportunity for a Manager in its San Juan office. This position will offer you the opportunity to manage and further grow a project team consisting of engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing high voltage systems.

You will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions to expand and modernize the electric grid. Responsibilities include directing the Team Lead in coordinating engineering and design from concept through detailed design, field support, and project closeout; supporting account management and client engagement; leading efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget; and coordinating facility studies for various RTOs.

The role also involves overseeing systems design activities to ensure installation and operation comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements; preparing reports and studies that present technical information clearly; conducting independent reviews of work performed by others; and supporting a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office presence 3 days per week.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or an advanced management/business degree
  • Hands-on experience with MISO facility studies and knowledge of DPP process
  • Experience in Project Management of Utility Substation Projects
  • Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE, and ANSI
  • 10+ years in designing multi-disciplined solutions for utility high voltage substations, including electrical, civil, and structural scopes
  • 5+ years leading an engineering design team through all project phases
  • Technical knowledge of available equipment and pre-engineered systems
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience serving as a firm/client liaison
  • Understanding of construction documents
  • Willingness to travel and attend client meetings
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English

  • FE or PE License
  • PMP certification
  • Start-up and commissioning experience
