- PhD degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4 years of experience writing software for research, such as simulations and modeling.
- Experience in quantum error correction.
- One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working in quantum computing.
- Experience in collaborating with experimentalists on various projects.

Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Develop advanced quantum error correction constructions, such as error correcting codes with hardware constraints or decoding algorithms.
- Write research papers and technical presentations in quantum computing.
- Develop research plans such as deliverables and timelines that support team-wide annual goals.
- Interface with other teams in Quantum AI to deliver quantum error correction solutions.
