Job Summary

This position is for a technical lead role involving Java development and Web Services expertise, focusing on system rewrites for Logistics projects at Laufer Group International. The role includes design, analysis, development, coding, unit testing, and collaboration with project managers, QA, user groups, and team members. Experience with IBM Platforms in a logistics context is a plus.

• Develop Java applications and system components
• Design and review software, understanding the full SDLC
• Define and analyze requirements
• Conduct unit testing
• Investigate and resolve software and system defects
• Support and automate software release processes

Requirements for Senior Java Software Engineer

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of JVM-based web application engineering experience
• Expertise in Java (front and back-end)
• Experience with Java EE, LDAP, scalable web services, JMS
• Deployment experience with IBM WebSphere 7.0 or later
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong problem-solving skills and mentoring ability
• Proficiency with IDEs like Eclipse, RAD, or WDSC
• Excellent communication skills

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools, SCM tools like Git, Subversion, JIRA
• Familiarity with SOA, DB2, SQL, JDBC, IBM development tools
• Experience with Spring, Hibernate, CoreJava
• Unix/Linux environment proficiency
• Scripting languages knowledge
• Self-motivated learner
