Job Overview

As a senior member of the Advanced Engineering and Technology, Standards team, you will support Radio Access Networks (RAN) and Service and System Aspects (SA) network design from a Standards perspective— the Core. Your focus will be on defining 5G and Next Gen network Standards to meet feature and performance objectives. You will analyze and design SA and RAN architecture layers to optimize networks supporting innovative applications with ultra-low latency, massive MTC connections, and high throughput.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships with internal and external parties, influencing industry standards bodies.
  • Evaluate and contribute to Standards Development Organization (SDO) technical contributions, aligning T-Mobile's positions with industry partners.
  • Serve as an SDO domain expert and delegate, representing T-Mobile at industry workgroups.
  • Ensure technical competence and influence with external contacts to ratify agreements and contributions.
  • Develop a 3+ year technology strategy for Core/RAN, including Network Slicing, IoT, V2X, AI RAN, MEC, and more.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to align technical efforts and industry standards.
  • Mentor other delegates and SMEs to navigate the Standards process.
  • Manage complex technical projects independently.
  • Lead industry standard meetings and forums.
  • Assess proposals from start-ups and incumbents.
  • Influence standards bodies to create necessary ecosystem structures.
  • Develop intellectual property and drive patents into standards.
Education and Experience

Master's Degree with 5 years' experience or a bachelor's degree with 6+ years' experience. Willing to travel up to 50%. Proven leadership in 3GPP, GSMA, ATIS, ETSI, and relevant Standards Bodies. Telecom/IT innovation experience, including IPR/Patent development, is beneficial. Excellent interpersonal skills.

Additional Details
