What you can expect to work on…

The Senior Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and governing Niowave's enterprise data architecture to meet current and future business needs.

  • Stabilize and optimize existing data pipelines and architecture.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance performance of data systems to ensure high-quality data delivery.
  • Lead migration and optimization of enterprise data platforms.
  • Design and build scalable, secure, and resilient data pipelines.
  • Develop and manage data governance and monitoring frameworks.
  • Collaborate with teams to turn raw data into insights.
  • Manage ETL processes to maintain data accuracy and currency.
  • Partner with engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure scalable and reliable data systems, especially during upgrades and migrations.

What you need to succeed…

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Strong mathematical skills for data analysis.
  • 8+ years' experience with programming languages and visualization software such as SQL, Python, R, MATLAB, Power BI, Tableau, and experience with Oracle, CSV/TDMS, InduSoft/Avera Insight.
  • Hands-on experience in data engineering, architecture, administration, application development, and data management.
  • Experience with relational and big data modeling.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to integrate into new teams, understand current processes, and suggest improvements at an appropriate pace.
  • Self-awareness of communication and learning styles, with the ability to connect effectively with others.

Great to have…

  • Master's degree in relevant fields.
