The Senior Data Scientist will execute data science projects across the company to solve non-routine business problems using advanced methods such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, causal inference, advanced statistics, natural language processing, and related techniques. Responsibilities include designing and building computational models, discovering insights, and identifying opportunities through statistical and algorithmic methods (e.g., machine learning or GenAI), as well as data visualization techniques. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership on LLM-related topics, including prompt engineering and compliance rules. You will manage small to medium-sized projects, potentially involving external support, and mentor junior colleagues.

This role is located at our Ridgefield, CT campus.

Compensation Data

This position offers a base salary typically between $140,000 and $222,000. It may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and other compensation elements. For benefits details, please click here.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Understand business problems and design data science solutions to address complex challenges.
  • Identify, implement, and evaluate appropriate algorithms (including GenAI) for specific challenges.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand data, IT, and operational constraints.
  • Work with developers to implement and deploy scalable solutions.
  • Establish best data operational practices and ensure compliance.
  • Stay updated with AI and machine learning advancements to improve models.
Establishing Close Collaborations with Business
  • Guide the organization on AI/data science potential and strategy.
  • Network regularly with domain experts to understand data-generating processes.
  • Develop extensive domain knowledge relevant to the pharma industry.
Community and Partnership Management
  • Network with internal and external partners.
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge exchange within and outside the organization.
  • Research best practices and collaborate with industry leaders.

Lead data science solution development and deployment independently, delivering projects across functions with high expertise.

Requirements
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with 11+ years of experience; or Bachelor's degree with 9+ years; or Master's degree with 7+ years; or relevant Business/IT experience of 11+ years.
  • Preferred: BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related fields.
  • Minimum 7 years in data science, with expertise in GenAI and LLMs.
  • Proficiency in Python and ML libraries/frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience with software development practices (Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and statistics.
  • Experience in developing and deploying generative models (LLMs, GANs, VAEs, Diffusion Models).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without restrictions.
  • Willing to undergo drug testing and physical exam if required.
  • At least 18 years old.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Advanced scientific degree (e.g., PhD, MD) preferred.
