Job Description :

The VISTA member will build the capacity of the Seeds 4 Success Grow Program by designing and documenting a comprehensive, year-long high school mentoring curriculum and evaluation toolkit. The curriculum will include at least 20 structured lesson plans with corresponding activities and assessments aligned with the program's core goals: academic achievement, social-emotional development, and college and career readiness. To ensure the curriculum is responsive and effective, the VISTA will research best practices, outline a monthly learning framework, and create user-friendly materials such as handouts, discussion guides, pre/post assessments, reflection tools, and facilitator feedback forms. Lessons and tools will be piloted with current Grow participants, and feedback from students, families, and staff will be used to refine the content before finalization. In addition to curriculum development, the VISTA will help coordinate the expansion of the Grow Program from one to two evenings per week. This includes securing space, managing scheduling, and aligning curriculum content to ensure balanced programming across both nights. The VISTA will observe sessions, support logistics, and help adapt programming based on feedback to enhance student engagement and consistency. VISTA will lead volunteer recruitment efforts, targeting at least 15 new mentors and facilitators. This will involve creating outreach materials, connecting with community partners, and managing applications and interviews. The VISTA will also assist with background checks and lead onboarding and training sessions, ensuring volunteers are well-prepared to deliver high-quality mentoring that aligns with Grow's mission and supports students in reaching their full potential.Further help on this page can be found by clicking here .Member Duties : The candidate should be a team player, eager to learn, gather feedback, and contribute to program improvement. They will work with a multifaceted team and with children from various backgrounds, providing a supportive environment for all. Experience in volunteer management or educational settings is helpful but not required. A passion for supporting students from low-income households and a commitment to making a positive impact on their futures is essential.
