Job Description

Target Pay Rate: $35-$44.30/hr — salary will be commensurate with experience

The Discovery Pharmaceutical Sciences team is a formulation team embedded within drug discovery in the Research Laboratories.

Our group profiles molecules, biologics, and small molecules, and conducts key pre-formulation studies to develop formulation strategies supporting candidate selection and clinical development.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support an experienced discovery formulation sciences team in profiling and formulating discovery molecules.

This involves handling chemical compounds, preparing small and large molecule samples using manual and robotic liquid handling, and using analytical methods like HPLC, HPSEC, spectrophotometry, and documenting results electronically.

  • Preparing formulation components and molecules for stability and performance testing.
  • Conducting tests using HPLC-UV, HPLC-SEC-RI, electrophoresis, thermal, and X-ray analysis.
  • Capturing results in electronic notebooks and communicating findings to team members.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment where data informs project decisions.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in analytical chemistry or related field with 3+ years of industry experience, or MSc/PhD with 2+ years.
  • Experience with lab work, HPLC analysis, and recording results.
  • Strong skills in analytical chemistry, chemical handling, purification, and characterization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

Nice to haves include pre-formulations, lipid nanoparticles, ELN experience, liquid handling robotics, and Tecan systems.

Personality traits include a desire to learn, teamwork, independence, communication skills, and precision.
