Responsibilities
Ensure the security of the premises and perform access controlPerform regular and frequent foot patrol of the entire facilityEnforce facility, BronxWorks, and Department of Homeless Services policiesPromptly advise appropriate supervisors of problemsMaintain order and promote safetyAct professionally and as a role model for clients, especially during crisis or conflictRespond appropriately and effectively to physical or verbal altercations between clientsRespond appropriately to medical emergenciesRespond appropriately to situations of child abuse and neglectAct as the liaison with police and other emergency servicesAct as designated Fire Safety Coordinator or Fire Guard as neededPromptly advise Shift Supervisor of problems or concernsMake formal notifications as requiredParticipate in all training and staff meetingsPerform additional duties as assignedWork extra hours and/or overtime as needed based on operational needsQualifications
New York State Security Guard Registration Card16 Hour On-The-Job Security Guard Training CertificateFirst Aid / CPR Certificate – PreferredNew York Fire Department Certificate of Fitness as Fire Guard, Shelters – PreferredAbility to write a clear and concise incident reportEngaging personality and detail-oriented skillsStrong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technologyMust obtain within 3 months of hire and maintain throughout employment:
