Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Sun River Health : Job Details

We are currently looking for a part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This role offers a great opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of our patients. You will collaborate with a team of attentive professionals committed to patient care and support our Patchogue, Brentwood, and Wyandanch sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside MDs, Psychiatrists, and LCSWs to consult on patient care via eCW and phone encounters.
• Manage medication and address behavioral health concerns effectively.
• Provide clinical care, perform psychiatric evaluations, and develop treatment plans to enhance patient support.
• Participate in case conferences, high-risk meetings, and treatment plan approvals.
• Ensure seamless transitions of care with external providers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Engage in crisis intervention as needed and document cases as required.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring their efficacy.
• Provide training and guidance to both professional and paraprofessional staff.
• Maintain awareness of patient development across all age groups and manage substance use disorders.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Nursing, with current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry.
• Certifications in CPR and BLS.
• Strong diagnostic and treatment procedure knowledge and skills.
• Excellent collaboration skills and a focus on patient-centered care.
• Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
