Job Summary:

  • Responsible for planning and organizing individual and group activities to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of patients. Communicates available programs to patients and encourages participation.
  • Documentation of Swing Bed activities in EMR.
  • Performs insurance verification on inpatients to ensure required documentation is submitted for payment of services.
  • Communicate with Providers when a denial is issued, and schedule peer review. Once peer review is complete, dispute denial with insurance carrier.
  • Outpatient Services marketing liaison for all facility service lines within the surrounding service areas.
  • Compare performance and incorporate customer feedback to enable intense evaluation of patterns and trends in the facility.
  • Facilitates the improvement of patient care processes and outcomes using evidence-based approaches with the input and clinical experience of those who will be providing the care.
  • Performs data abstraction and analysis for all required performance improvement measures with responsibility for leading improvements.
  • Collaborates with administrative and clinical leaders to resolve outcome issues.
  • Accountable for providing leadership in planning, implementing, evaluating, and integrating performance measurement and improvement activities.
  • Maintain an accurate master staffing schedule while making adjustments as needed according to census fluctuations, call-ins, and staff needed to meet worked hours to staff the units.
  • Responsible for mastering the Advance Scheduler in Kronos to keep it accurate at all times.
  • Responsible for completing payroll by deadline with use of Kronos scheduling and payroll system.
  • Oversee facility's incident reporting process. Follow up on reported incidents to ensure the proper/ necessary action is taken. Track and trend submissions based on category.

  • Performs clerical functions, plans and organizes displays, and designs departmental communication materials.
  • This position promotes communication throughout the facility to ensure appropriate information is reaching key personnel in a timely manner.
  • Ensure appropriate communication and interaction with patients/families and visitors.
  • Identifies patterns and trends in data by analyzing multiple sources of feedback from various databases to assist others in analyzing and interpreting performance improvement information
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
  • Demonstrates independence and exercises sound judgment in interactions with physicians and the inter-professional care team.
  • Demonstrates strong relationship-building skills to partner with surrounding entities, acquire new business, and maintain positive existing relationships with current community partners.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of process improvement and project management tools.
  • Demonstrates technical aptitude for operating telephone, fax, scanner, calculator, label printer and computer.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate and interact with visitors, vendors, employees, and management effectively.
  • Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate and interact effectively at all levels with a variety of organizational entities and personnel across disciplines, clinical departments, and inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to pursue desired outcomes in complexity and ambiguity
  • Coordinate workgroups, processes, and workflows to maximize efficiencies and ensure work is being performed at the right levels.
  • Work directly with insurance companies to ensure payment for impatient services.
  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze data in order to drill down on specific issues to formulate an action plan and implement those for corrective action.
  • Demonstrates the ability to teach different processes and educate on approved processes to staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to schedule meetings and lead to discuss the data collected.
  • Communicates pertinent staffing information and changes with staffing/scheduling needs to reduce/eliminate problems with the Director of Nursing.
  • Demonstrates the ability to accurately manage the advanced scheduler in Kronos working with the Director of Nursing's on their schedules.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to accurately complete payroll deadlines with use of Kronos scheduling and payroll system.
  • Completes monthly staffing schedule, coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of all shifts are staffed adequately.

Qualifications: Education/Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Extensive work experience or collegiate studies.
  • Bachelor degree in health-related studies required.
Work Experience:
  • Required to have a working knowledge of data processing systems and data analysis.
  • Organization ability and strong communication skills are required.
  • Minimal 2 years' experience in a clinical setting, project coordination and process improvement preferred.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
  • Notary of Public Certification

  • Basic Life Support
