Position Overview

We are currently seeking a self-motivated, mid-level Geologist or Scientist to join our team at the Hunt Valley, MD office. The successful candidate will serve as a task manager and/or team leader, responsible for the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases of a wide range of environmental projects. The focus will be on munitions response (MR), site characterization and remediation (SCR), as well as CERCLA and RCRA-type site assessments and remedial activities.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a task manager and/or team leader for multi-disciplinary environmental projects.
  • Oversee the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases for munitions response (MR), site characterization, and remediation (SCR) projects.
  • Conduct CERCLA and RCRA-type site assessments and remedial activities.
  • Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS or MA/MS degree in Geology or Environmental Science, with a focus on environmental contamination, engineering geology, and hydrology/hydrogeology (preferred).
  • 2 or more years of experience with an A/E firm or government entity, including project/task management, field-sampling procedures, hydrologic and contaminant mapping, document research, and analytical laboratory data interpretation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with environmental analytical/numerical modeling (fate and transport) and GIS (a plus).
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies (a plus).
  • Willingness to travel out of state for project tasks, sometimes for a week or more at a time.
  • Current OSHA HAZWOPER training and professional certifications (a plus).
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience mentoring junior staff.

Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.

Drug Screen Statement

Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen.

Pay Range

$60,000 - $80,000 USD

The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
