Material Handler

The role of the Material Handler is to ensure that components and systems are updated with material movements. This position is crucial in maintaining 100% inventory accuracy and ensuring that production and assembly have the necessary parts in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cycle counts to maintain 100% inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure timely material movements for material put away and kitting of material for production orders.
  • Record put aways by key entry into the WMS, not through scanning.
  • Multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Receive parts from suppliers into the SAP WMS system, place them in designated spots, and build large kits (20+ parts) for delivery.
  • Operate a forklift for approximately 15% of the time, with potential for increased use depending on daily demands.
Essential Skills
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience operating a sit-down forklift.
  • SAP experience, particularly with the WMS version.
  • Detail-oriented to ensure 100% accuracy in inventory and kit building.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Solid computer and data entry skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must wear steel or composite-toed shoes.
  • Experience with loading and unloading trucks is a plus!
Available Shift & Pay
  • 1st shift: 6:30am - 3:00pm, OT would start before the shift at 5am

Work Environment

This position operates on the first shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with overtime starting at 5:00 AM. The work environment is a temperature-controlled, bright, and organized. Safety gear, including steel toes, safety glasses, and protective sleeves, is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract-to-Hire position based out of Columbus, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
