Description
Position Purpose:
The Manager of Expanded Learning will manage multiple after-school enrichment programs and will be directly accountable for the operations, quality, customer satisfaction and profitability of each site. This position serves as Catalyst ELO-P's liaison with our district partner, educators, parents, and school administration. The Expanded Learning Manager will oversee all Site Coordinators within their contract and directly report to the Director of Expanded Learning.
Essential Job Functions:
- Collaborates with Expanded Learning Director to establish overall contract plan and site-specific goals.
- Works with Site Coordinators of Extended Learning to plan and implement site-based services to coincide with the needs of the community.
- Establishes strategic relationships with external stakeholders Principals, Teacher on Special Assignment, School Districts, etc. Maintains regular communication and strengthens relationships needed for growth and renewal of programs.
- Manages key HR functions, in partnership with HR Team, including recruitment, selection, evaluation, scheduling, hiring and disciplining employees, supporting and promoting employee development and training through coaching and mentoring, and communicating with staff on classroom issues and standard operating procedures
- Maintains high staff morale, recognition, and retention.
- Strategically identifies ways to improve the financial performance of sites and takes proactive actions to grow the business to include possibilities of expanding regional footprint.
- Maintains direct profit & loss responsibility for assigned contract
- Trains, manages, and supports Site Coordinators to implement financially sound budgeting resource utilization practices, as well as timely reporting of the center financial activities
- Ensures sites/programs meet state specific requirements/standards
- Implements effective standardized operating procedures to help drive program quality
- Assures communication and relationships with families and community are established and sustained.
- Markets Catalyst ELO-P programs seeks out opportunities to promote the program at relevant school and community events. Responsible for the internal growth opportunities of all locations in their area
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Education
The MINIMUM formal relevant education required by the position.
- Bachelors Degree in a desired field preferred (ex. Business Administration, ECE/Child Development or related)
Experience
The MINIMUM relevant experience necessary to qualify for the position.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in early child education/childcare with proven abilities to lead the operation of a childcare center.
- 1 year experience managing a team, 2 years or more preferred

- Full managerial authority over a department or unit (s) in a department.
Decision Making
- Projects are assigned with considerable latitude for decision-making and setting of priorities. Work may be periodically reviewed according to achievement of predefined goals.
Critical Thinking
- Critical thinking involves the analysis of complex facts related to complex situations, requiring the interpretation and comparison of a wide range of options.
- Develops and administers an annual expense and/or revenue generation budget for a specific department. Monitors expenses and/or revenue generated and reports significant variances to ensure conformance with approved budget.
- This position works formally with other individuals as part of a department and informally among several departments. Informal interactions and/or collaborations outside the organization ARE necessary to meet position expectations.

Other Qualifications:
- Solid experience in supervising and leading a sizeable team.
- Working knowledge of accounting, budgeting, staffing, marketing, and business management highly desirable.
- Child development manager with strong recreation background desired
- Proficiency in a second language is also desirable.
- Ability to meet state-specific requirements; Fingerprint LIVE SCAN, CPR/FA, Medical Certificate/TB test, Mandated Reporter training
- Travel up to 70% to assigned sites, community meetings
