WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Post Anesthesia Nurse a for a 13-week contract assignment at an ambulatory surgery center Hauppauge, NY.

Job Function:

• Day Shift or Night Shift.
• 5x8.

• Provides post-operative nursing care to patients in a compassionate and individualized manner, following directions from the anesthesiologist and/or attending physician.

• Documents all nursing activities and completes a nursing discharge note when the anesthesiologist approves the patient's transfer to the progressive recovery room.

• Ensures all necessary equipment and supplies are stocked and readily available.

• Monitors and records the patient's vital signs and level of consciousness in accordance with nursing procedures.

• Assists the anesthesiologist or attending physician as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).

• Current New York State RN license or willingness to obtain one.

• 3 years of relevant experience in this specialty.

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.

• PALS certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.
