Food Production - Harvest Skilled PR 07 - Kill Floor - Full-Time Starting pay: $21.50/ HR - Kill Floor team members are involved the humane slaughter of live animals and preparation for deboning. Activities include the driving up live animals from the holding pens to the kill floor, electrical stunning of live animals, bleeding, skinning, eviscerating hogs and inspecting hog carcasses. RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:Must be trained in the humane handling of livestock in accordance with the Humane Slaughter Act. Requires the use of knives and knife sharpening equipment. Knowledge of hydraulic cutters. Keep work area clean and tidy during production. Recondition meat that has touched an unsanitary surface. Visually inspect hog carcasses and trim off bruised meat and other visual contamination. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JS - As).
