Job Title: Geospatial Data ScientistLocation: Springfield, VAEligibility: Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI ClearanceJob Description: Position OverviewWe are seeking a Data Scientist to support the Department of Defense(DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC). This role requires expertise inprocessing and analyzing large datasets, as well as developing analyticprocesses and automated workflows, scripting solutions, and datamodeling. The ideal candidate will apply their technical skills andcustomer-centric approach to solve complex intelligence challenges. Thisis a very interesting modernization effort that spans the entire datalife cycle. This is a development effort across sourcing fulfillment,optimization, analytics, AI/ML, automation and visualization.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze large structured and unstructured datasets to streamlineprocesses and address intelligence challenges.Lead and refine analytic solutions, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.Collaborate with stakeholders to translate road map features intocomponents/tasks, estimate timelines, assess risks, and suggestsolutions.Apply exploratory data analysis techniques to identify patterns andtrends in complex data.Utilize data science techniques, including machine learning, statisticalanalysis, and modeling, to generate actionable insights.Develop and optimize automated workflows for data processing andanalysis.Conduct peer reviews to improve methodologies and ensure quality.Mentor junior team members to enhance their technical skills andknowledge.Required QualificationsSecurity Clearance: TS/SCI w/CI polyExperience: relevant experience in data science, analytics, or relatedfields with experience supporting geospatial IC operations (combinationof experience and certifications can substitute for a degree).Technical Expertise:Advanced proficiency in manipulating and analyzingstructured/unstructured data.Experience with data mining, database management, and analyticsdevelopment.Proficiency in Python and SQL.Tableau and MatLab for statistical work using advanced analyticmethodologiesBig data analytics experience, strong preference for AI/MLProficiency in advanced programming languages and frameworksExperienced in conducting multi-INT and technology specific research tosupport mission operationsExperience in building and maintaining databases of geospatialintelligence (GEOINT), signals intelligence (SIGINT), or open-sourceintelligence (OSINT) data.Leadership & Communication:Ability to direct technical teams and solve complex intelligenceproblems.Strong communication skills to convey complex data insights effectively.Desired QualificationsMaster's degree in Data Science or a related technical field.Experience developing and working with Artificial Intelligence (AI) andMachine Learning (ML) models.Strong preference for ArcGIS applications working knowledge.Data visualization expertise, including network and matrix analyticsthat assist the analytical workforce in generating common operationalpictures, to support intelligence analysis.
