Backend / Full-Stack Engineer (Full Time in Office, NYC – Brooklyn)

Build the future of API developer experience

Our client is building open-source tools that make APIs as delightful to use as Stripe's—think auto-generated SDKs, beautiful docs, and seamless integration experiences. Inspired by what they's seen in in their experience with some of the best known Tech Unicorns, they're creating the API infrastructure they wish every engineering team had.

APIs power the internet—but they're often untyped, inconsistent, and painful to work with. This team is fixing that, and they're hiring backend-leaning full-stack engineers to join them in Brooklyn.

The Tech Stack

• Backend: Express (Node.js), FastAPI (Python)
• API tooling: (in-house built)

What You'll Work On

• Build SDK and doc generation tools that help developers adopt and love APIs.
• Own backend-heavy projects (70/30 backend/frontend) in TypeScript, Python, and more.
• Work closely with founders and ship high-impact features fast.
• Help shape product, team, and engineering culture.
• Build for and with the open-source developer community.

You Might Be a Fit If You Have:

• 3+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript
• Startup experience (ideally venture-backed)
• Self-hosted software experience is a bonus
• Former founder experience is a big plus
• Vercel experience would be a definite plus
• A top-tier academic background (We're after those with the very best education but equally if you can demonstrate exceptional experience and a clear evidence of passion for code but took a different route, that we can consider).
• Projects you've built that you're proud to share
• Polyglot mindset—open to Python, Rust, or have even worked with Functional Programming languages like Haskell, Scala, Ocaml etc.
