The Opportunity:

We are looking for a multi-skilled candidate who can balance project management and interior design ability with good people skills. The Facilities Manager is responsible for creating a suitable working environment, expanding our existing footprint as we grow, and ensuring facilities are always clean among other duties.

The workload of a facility manager is complex and varied: managing budgets, leveraging technical knowledge, making quick decisions, and solving problems. Previous experience that will help identify potential issues and resolve any issues as soon as possible is required.

The ideal candidate will be well organized, have an eye for detail, and able to optimize the use of space and equipment.

How I will Contribute:
  • Design and recommend new facility building layouts to ensure optimal space utilization, operational efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure facilities meet compliance standards with local, state, and federal regulations including building codes, safety standards, and environmental laws.
  • Forecast upcoming facility needs based on organizational objectives and plan for growth.
  • Oversee renovations, refurbishments, and capital improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Assist with office relocations as needed.
  • Manage outsourced security guards and ensure comprehensive protection plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of building security, fire alarm systems, and emergency protocols.
  • Supervise internal facilities personnel and external contractors across multiple locations, ensuring adherence to SLAs and performance standards.
  • Allocate office space according to needs.
  • Administer service contracts with vendors and third-party providers, ensuring contractual obligations and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records related to facilities operations, contracts, and compliance.
  • Develop and monitor budgets for facilities operations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and stakeholders for construction and renovation projects.
  • Manage landlord lease agreements, including negotiations and renewals.
  • Oversee procurement and maintenance of office furniture, ensuring a functional and aesthetic environment. Be on call for security and maintenance emergencies.
  • What You Bring to Safran Federal Systems:
    • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; or 10+ years of experience in facilities management.
    • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
    • Experience in preparing reports, memos, and operational documentation.
    • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
    • Experience creating layout drawings or collaborating with design teams.
    • Proven ability to work across departments including construction, IT, HR, and operations.
    • Strong leadership skills managing staff and contractors.
    • High accuracy in inspecting facilities and maintaining safety and operational standards.
    • Ability to analyze complex infrastructure challenges and develop timely solutions.
    • Experience delivering presentations and managing large-scale projects.
    • Willing to travel approximately 20% of the time.
    • Knowledge of ADA standards for accessible design.
    • Logical reasoning, effective communication, poise, and positive interaction skills.
    • Ability to work effectively under stress and address multiple complex problems.
    • Ability to move items up to 50 pounds as needed.
