Blue Line Distribution, the in-house distributor for Little Caesars Pizza, has been family owned and operated for over 50 years; and is dedicated to leading customized and innovative food service logistics with safety as a top priority. We are now hiring for a DC Director at our facility in Lacey, Washington.
Your Mission:
As the Distribution Center Director, you will be responsible for the operation and the staff of the distribution center to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability. You will hire, train, develop, and evaluate the performance of branch management and hourly colleagues. Manage customer service aspects of the business and the flow of inbound & outbound products, including promotional, small wares, and related products. Ensure adherence to all company policies as well as all state and federal laws.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Pay range for position is $100,000-120,000 annually.
- Manage customer service aspects of the business. Ensure timely deliveries. Conduct periodic surveys of customer satisfaction. Provide feedback and set goals for staff, measuring improvement.
- Monitor the flow of scheduled inbound products ordered centrally and locally. Review electronic purchase orders and troubleshoot overdue purchase orders from vendors and corporate. Assist in maintaining inventory turn ratio, fill rate, and control shrinkage.
- Hire, onboard, and train drivers, warehouse, and office staff. Ensure low turnover rates.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and supervise branch staff through communication, delegation, follow-up, performance evaluation, and positive reinforcement. Conduct performance reviews to develop staff skills. Conduct driver ride-alongs (standard: 1 per driver annually) and warehouse visits (standard: 2 visits per shift per 4-week period).
- Coordinate payroll, unemployment, workers compensation, disability, and other personnel matters. Develop budgets and action plans to meet cost and profitability goals. Monitor sales and cost control figures regularly.
- Maximize truck and labor efficiency by establishing routes to optimize truck utilization and meet load weight and cube goals. Maintain optimal processing times and schedule drivers and warehouse personnel accordingly.
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment adhering to government laws, DOT, FDA, OSHA, and company policies. Use XATA hardware and ensure accident report procedures are followed. Aim for an excellent branch rating (3 Star Award Standard, with a goal of 4-star). Achieve high ratings from Quality Assurance and the American Institute of Baking.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field, with at least five (5) years of managerial experience in transportation/warehouse industry, or a minimum of 8 years of managerial experience.
- Strong understanding of DOT, FDA, OSHA, CSA compliance, and enforcement ability.
- Four years of experience in food service distribution.
- Excellent communication skills, leadership, and motivation abilities.
- Experience in forecasting and managing budgets, with the ability to communicate variances.

Pay Range: $102,712.00 - $164,338.00
