The Director of Institutional Giving and Advocacy is responsible for raising over $500k of the annual contributed revenue budget and has an eye on continued growth year over year. This position manages and develops a pipeline of current and prospective grant funders (corporate, foundation, and government) who align with Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania's (GSEP) mission and program priorities. The Director is responsible for all grant applications and report writing, including all grants from United Way organizations and specific sources of government funding. In partnership with the Chief Advancement Officer, this position will work closely with the Mission Delivery and Marketing team to create and build opportunities to increase awareness among current and prospective donor constituencies to expand positive fundraising relationships and ultimately increase revenue for the Council. The Director of Institutional Giving and Advocacy will lead and implement GSEP's processes to proactively seek and secure institutional funding, meeting, or exceeding the organizations' institutional funding revenue goals. This role will also interact with the Senior Management Team, the Board of Directors, and other leaders throughout the Council to increase the institutional giving pipeline. Additionally, this role partners with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Advancement Officer and Council lobbyist to secure government funds and develop and maintain relationships with key elected officials. Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience - 7-10 years of related experience in fundraising and grants management
  • Education - Bachelor's Degree.
  • Superior Written and Oral communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation- travel within our 9-County footprint is needed.
  • Presence at Headquarters and other service centers is required.
  • Computer skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced knowledge such as mail merges and experience working with databases.
  • Prior Management experience
  • Ability to understand and monitor budgets and performance metrics.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrated ability in planning, budget maintenance and management of high visibility events in council.
  • Experience planning and coordinating activities for large numbers of diverse participants.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to generate enthusiasm for Girl Scouts mission through written and verbal communications.
  • Excellent writing skills and experience in preparing written materials for use by the public.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills and the ability to make effective presentations.
  • Ability to navigate over gravel and uneven paths.
  • Compelling communication and presentation skills including the ability to articulate the mission and goals of GSEP to the membership and to the community.
  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills to inspire staff, volunteers, and girls.
  • Solid customer service skills and the ability to take ownership and responsibility for all performance-related goals.
  • Robust research skills.
  • Raiser's Edge or similar CRM database experience.
  • Willing to work weekends and nights, as necessary.
