Overview

The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Co-Responder supports a collaborative, team-based model for behavioral health crisis response in partnership with law enforcement. The role involves responding to incidents involving individuals experiencing behavioral health crises in the community, providing mobile crisis intervention services, and connecting individuals to appropriate behavioral health services to promote diversion from the criminal justice system and access to mental health/substance use care.

Position Details

Compensation Range: Starting at $44,000 - $53,950 for limited licensed candidates, and $44,094 - $58,100 for fully licensed candidates, based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with law enforcement to respond to behavioral health crises in the community.
  • Engage, assess, and support individuals using evidence-based practices.
  • Provide mobile crisis intervention, de-escalation, and linkage to services.
  • Develop crisis-related treatment plans and conduct risk assessments.
  • Refer individuals to mental health and substance use services and community resources.
  • Maintain community partnerships and stay informed of available resources.
  • Conduct outreach and track case statuses.
  • Support law enforcement in engaging individuals with mental health/substance use needs.
  • Participate in meetings, complete documentation, and adhere to compliance standards.
Qualifications

Required: QMHP certification, relevant degree or experience, state licensure, proficiency in computers and EHRs, knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders, ability to work with diverse populations, and valid driver's license with transportation.

Preferred: Experience in community mental health, law enforcement, or SUD populations.
