Position Overview

We are seeking an innovative recovery professional to serve as a Community Recovery Manager for the LA Wildfires Long-Term Recovery Operation in California. Preference will be given to candidates residing within or near fire-impacted communities. This is a term-limited, benefits-eligible position expected to last 24 months from the disaster date, with potential for extension. The role is remote with frequent travel to impacted communities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Represent the Red Cross and the LA Wildfire Long-Term Recovery Program as a liaison with local partners and recovery entities.
  • Lead community assessments to identify needs and gaps, and strengthen partnerships with NGOs, government, and community groups.
  • Support the development and monitoring of recovery programming based on community resources and needs.
  • Advocate for vulnerable and underserved populations to ensure equitable access to services.
  • Assist in establishing local recovery efforts, such as Long-Term Recovery Groups and collaboratives.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform program strategies and report on progress.
  • Document activities and community recovery information to support regional and national efforts.
  • Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders, including leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of related experience, preferably in social services or program delivery.
  • Strong ability to coordinate efforts in a matrixed environment, interpret data, manage priorities, and build relationships with diverse groups.
  • Valid Driver's License and willingness to deploy to disaster areas at least once a year.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, use hands, talk, reach, stand, walk, and lift up to 30 pounds as needed. Visual and environmental conditions are typical of an office and field environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Red Cross recovery processes, community mobilization, disaster response, and volunteer management are highly desirable.
