Job Title: CL+D Program Planner Location: Remote (Bay Area on-site support may be required for training programs) Duration: 19 Months Schedule: 20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours Pay Rate: $32 - $36.67/hour About the Role:

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Planner, Commercial Learning + Development (CL+D) to lead the planning and implementation of U.S. Commercial training programs across therapeutic areas and business units.
  • Programs may include New Hire Training, Leadership Development, Emerging Leader Training, and other learning initiatives.
  • This role requires strong organizational, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration skills to ensure seamless logistical execution.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage end-to-end execution of training programs and ad hoc training meetings.
  • Partner with stakeholders to align training program planning with business needs.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Operations Manager and vendors to ensure program alignment across therapeutic areas.
  • Manage RFPs, venue sourcing, site selection, and vendor evaluation in line with business and industry standards.
  • Negotiate contracts with hotels, venues, and vendors.
  • Oversee catering, food and beverage logistics, and vendor-provided services (production, audiovisual, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, action plans, and stakeholder deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal training teams and external vendors to ensure projects remain on track.
  • Produce pre-program communications (e.g., websites, materials) and post-program analyses, including survey-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Manage registration processes, attendee lists, rooming lists, and program materials.
  • Lead cross-functional planning meetings and ensure effective collaboration.
  • Manage budgets: create forecasts, track costs, reconcile expenses, and ensure accurate cross-charges and accruals.
  • Oversee vendor performance, ensuring deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Establish and refine standard operating procedures to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentor colleagues in program planning, logistics, and project management as needed.
  • Support strategic projects impacting broader team and organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's degree (MS/MA/MBA) with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of program planning, meeting management, and logistics.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with adopting new digital tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Project Management, Hospitality & Tourism Management, or related field.
  • Significant meeting and project management experience, preferably in biotech/pharma.
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation.
  • Early adopter of technology with a digital-first mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.
  • Resourceful, self-starter who can navigate ambiguous situations.
