Auditor Analysts perform a wide range of responsibilities, including the review, analysis, auditing, adjustment, and reporting of accounting transactions and related financial systems. They also conduct audits of financial records, internal controls, and procedures within County departments and special districts. Depending on departmental needs, positions may be assigned to one of the following areas:
  • Accounting: Analyze and reconcile complex financial transactions, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and County policies.
  • Auditing: Perform internal audits, evaluate departmental procedures, assess internal controls, and make recommendations to improve efficiency, accountability, and compliance.
  • Systems Analysis: Develop and implement end-user business solutions for the County's enterprise resource planning system, known as the Enterprise Financial System (EFS). This includes collaborating with departments to enhance system functionality, automate processes, and improve reporting capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes: Auditor-Analyst I: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics or management information systems, or closely related field AND 8 semester or 12 quarter units of college-level accounting courses. Auditor-Analyst II: In addition, two years of experience at a level equivalent to Auditor-Analyst I. Auditor-Analyst III: In addition, two years of experience at a level equivalent to Auditor-Analyst II. Pension Benefit and Employee Contribution Rates: The County's pension is a defined benefit plan that provides a guaranteed monthly pension payment for life based on your time in service, wages, and other factors. The County is the primary contributor to the pension fund, but the health of the pension fund also depends on mandatory employee contributions.
