The Data Operations Group at Eisai, Inc. is looking for Associate Director - Data Scientist/Programmer to create insightful AI-powered dashboards. The Data Scientist will work closely with Data Operations and Biostatisticians in data ingestion, streaming, and dashboard production to support projects across various stages of development. This role will be integral in providing actionable insights for critical projects that are vital to our business.

The Data Operations Group at Eisai, Inc. is looking for Associate Director - Data Scientist/Programmer to create insightful AI-powered dashboards. The Data Scientist will work closely with Data Operations and Biostatisticians in data ingestion, streaming, and dashboard production to support projects across various stages of development. This role will be integral in providing actionable insights for critical projects that are vital to our business.

This position may be either office-based (hybrid) in Nutley, NJ, or remote-based.

Responsibilities
  • Data Extraction & Analysis: Extract and manipulate complex datasets to generate detailed reports, charts, and graphs, analyzing for outliers, root causes, business impacts, correlations, and discrepancies. Proactively propose alternative solutions to optimize business outcomes.
  • AI-Driven Data Preparation: Utilize AI and machine learning techniques for automated data preparation, especially for creating dynamic visualizations and insights through Power BI tools.
  • Natural Language Processing & LLM: Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLM) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to generate infographics and data-driven insights.
  • Data Preparation for Analysis: Prepare data for modeling by cleaning datasets, handling missing values, and removing outliers to ensure high-quality inputs for model development.
  • Insight Generation for Drug Discovery: Identify patterns and root causes within data to generate insights supporting drug discovery and development.
  • Comprehensive Data Integration: Integrate diverse data sources (clinical, biological, etc.) for holistic analyses to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Model Training & Data Quality Assessment: Assess data quality for model training and testing to ensure reliable predictive models.
  • Clear Communication of Findings: Present data-driven insights and proposals clearly to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Work with data scientists, biostatisticians, and data standards teams on data collection, feature design, and cross-team initiatives.
  • Data Communication & Visualization: Communicate complex findings effectively through visualizations, reports, and dashboards accessible to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with research projects.
  • Extensive expertise in data modeling techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python or R, with strong data manipulation and analysis libraries.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, matplotlib).
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, capable of managing complex projects independently.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Eisai Salary Transparency Language: The base salary range for the Associate Director, Data Scientist & Data Operations is from $171,100 to $224,600. This position is eligible to participate in the Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Long Term Incentive Plan. Final pay will depend on experience, education, knowledge, and skills.
