ABOUT Play for P.I.N.K.

Play for P.I.N.K. (Prevention, Immediate Diagnosis, New Technology, Knowledge) is a grassroots organization dedicated to raising funds to fight breast cancer through sporting and lifestyle events. Our commitment is to contribute 100% of all proceeds raised to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) to fund top researchers worldwide.

Since inception, Play for P.I.N.K. has raised over $85 million to support breakthroughs in detection, treatment, prevention, and survivorship. We support volunteers organizing events that benefit BCRF, the largest private funder of breast cancer research, founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Director, Events, reports to the Managing Director and plays a critical role in executing and growing Play for P.I.N.K.'s strategic plan. This position involves supporting fundraising programs, partner events, and increasing awareness and participation across markets. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, executing events, and providing personalized support to event chairpersons. The role also involves identifying new markets and opportunities, cultivating relationships, and promoting Play for P.I.N.K.

This position is based in New York, NY, with a requirement to work onsite at least three days per week.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Events & Logistics Lead: Manage relationships, support logistics, oversee event registration, donor stewardship, and manage data related to events and donations.
  • Fundraising Support: Assist in identifying new markets, expanding reach, and strengthening donor relationships.
  • Marketing Support: Update marketing materials and coordinate with digital agencies for newsletters and social media content.
  • ABOUT YOU

    You are goal-oriented with excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, strategic, proactive, collaborative, creative, and innovative. You have experience in executing fundraising events, familiarity with nonprofit and grassroots fundraising, and strong project management skills. You possess excellent stakeholder relations skills, discretion, and flexibility to work longer hours when needed. Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally is required.

    Qualifications include at least eight years of experience in events and fundraising, proficiency with CRM systems (Raisers Edge preferred), fundraising platforms like Classy, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and superb communication skills.

    Travel & Compensation

    Some travel to Rhode Island, Palm Beach, and around the tri-state area is required. The role offers a salary range of $100,000 - $115,000, with comprehensive benefits including health coverage, retirement plans, paid parental leave, PTO, and holidays.
