Introduction The Assembly Sergeant at Arms Office is currently accepting applications for a Support Clerk/Trainer to join the Wisconsin State Legislature. The Assembly Sergeant at Arms is a non-partisan office that aids the operation of the Assembly. This position will provide support to the Wisconsin State Assembly.
Position Summary Support Clerk responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the everyday functions of the Legislature by completing a variety of tasks, including Legislative errands and deliveries, office support work, carrying/moving heavy items, occasional mail delivery, and answering the phone.
- Assist Legislative operations by staffing and setting up Legislative meetings and floor sessions, including technology setup and operation.
- Aiding in ensuring the security of the Assembly and its members. Strong facial recognition capabilities, an ability to monitor access, and the ability to work well with a wide variety of people.
- Use oral and written communication skills along with computer and organizational skills to aid operational practices with attention to detail.
Trainer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Act as a lead worker, set the example for others, take initiative, work with and back up managers, and demonstrate strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Train and mentor employees on the various operational aspects, ensuring competency and understanding. Communicate expectations in a clear and easy-to-understand way, instilling high commitment to excellence in customer service.
- Develop and improve training documents and offerings.
- Work with managers to streamline training for employees, including tracking employee progression, developing improvement plans, and utilizing available resources to improve performance.
- Evaluate the success of training and develop metrics for improvement.
Salary Information The salary range is $35,525 to $54,154, based on experience and education. This position qualified for state benefits. Additional information regarding benefits can be found on LHRO's website at .
