Position Summary

The Art Department is seeking a temporary faculty member who can teach sections of Drawing 1 and/or 2D Design.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

Adjunct Professor is typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.

Quarterly remuneration for a 5-credit lecture class is $6,230.79 - $7,596.75. Compensation is prorated based on the type and duration of assignments. Newly hired adjunct faculty are placed at the minimum rate of $6,230.79. Additional stipends may be available for extra assignments or projects.

The Art Department offers courses in Sculpture, Painting, Printmaking, Drawing, Photography, and Ceramics.

Essential Functions
  • Teach sections of Drawing 1 and 2D Design on main campus.
  • Manage the Drawing and Design Studio.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master of Fine Arts in Drawing, Painting, or Interdisciplinary areas.
  • Practicing artist with observational and figurative drawing skills.
  • Knowledge of contemporary practices and artists, especially from marginalized communities.
  • Ability to incorporate diverse artists into curricula.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching at the college level, especially with pre-college students.
