Job Description :

Reports to the Vice President of Philanthropy and Communications. Supervises Development Associates I and II and assigned volunteers.

Responsible for annual fund development, including database management, donor stewardship, donor recognition, and oversight of the direct mail program. Participates in Capital Campaign donor identification and tracking. Supervises Gift Processing staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management or a related field such as communications, public relations, marketing, or business.

Minimum of 5 years of proven successful experience in annual fund fundraising and database management. At least 3 years of supervisory experience.

Experience in RE or RE NXT database management is required; experience with Crystal Reports (RE Module) is preferred.

Valid Ohio Driver's License and an insurable driving record.

Knowledge and Skills

Proficiency in Windows OS environment with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; expertise in Excel, including importing, exporting, and data presentation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-motivated and disciplined.

Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including high-level corporate executives, managers, and donors.

Preferred: Experience working with volunteers and knowledge of animal welfare.

Must become Fear Free Certified within six months of hire or already possess certification.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an animal shelter open seven days a week, with exposure to animals, some with health or temperament issues, high noise levels, zoonotic diseases, and cleaning agents. Subject to animal bites and scratches. Requires occasional movement within the shelter to interact with donors and staff. Frequently operates computers and office equipment. Must be able to remain stationary for 75% of the time. Occasionally handles animals of all sizes in various positions. Communicates regularly with donors, staff, and volunteers and must accurately exchange information. Ability to recognize potentially dangerous animal behavior. Flexibility to modify work schedule as needed.
