Job Title: Part time/Adjunct/English Program/Freshman Composition

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach undergraduate/graduate courses in specific content areas as assigned by department chairpersons.
Prepares syllabi that meet department and university standards.
Prepares meaningful classroom experiences which include a variety of pedagogical strategies, including lectures, discussion, tests and exams.
Compiles, administers, and grades examinations.
Participates in Assessment activities by submitting data of student learning outcomes in a timely fashion.
And all other relevant duties as assigned by the Chair.
EDUCATION:
Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
Must be able to make decisions supporting the department's mission and goals.
Must have excellent communication skills, oral and written.
Must have interpersonal skills, and the ability to work within a culturally diverse organization.
Must have a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible schedule including possible evening and weekend work. The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Moderate lifting up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and body mobility to stoop, kneel, and bend and reach.
