Academic Advisor - Delta State University : Job Details

Provide comprehensive academic advisement and support to assigned students within a designated college at Delta State University. Assist students with appropriate course selection and understanding academic program requirements. Identify resources to assist students with success in their chosen program of study. Work collaboratively with other advisors and the Coordinator of Academic Engagement (Registrars Office), personnel in the Office of Admissions and Student Business Services to facilitate fully coordinated services for incoming students. Teach a 3-hour First Year Seminar class each semester. Develop and implement registration activities. Review transcripts for students changing majors or transferring. Provide ongoing communication and support to both new and returning advisees to ensure their academic and personal success. Provide data and reports on academic advising and student success indicators. Other related duties as assigned.
